Carl H. Hays, M.D. received his B.S. degree in pharmacy from Drake University in 1972. He returned to medical school at the University of Iowa one year later, graduating in 1977. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1981. He began practice in Burlington thereafter in August 1981, along with Lois Akey, RN who continues to work with the group. Dr. Hays was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1983, and was voluntarily recertified in 1993. He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Gregg W. Calderwood, M.D. received his B.S. in Zoology at Iowa State University in 1975. He completed his M.D. degree at the University of Iowa in 1979 and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1983. He was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1985 and has been a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1986. He is a member of the American Medical Association.
Michael J. McCoy, M.D. received his B.S. degree in Zoology from the University of Wyoming in 1981 and his M.D. degree from Creighton University School of Medicine (Cum Laude) in 1986. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1990. He was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1992 and has been a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1993. He is a member of the American Medical Association and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. McCoy and his wife have six children.
Kimberly A. Marshall, M.D. is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2004 and has been a Fellow of the Ameican College of Obstetrics and Gynecolocy since 2005. She is a member of the American Medical Society. Dr Marshall and her husband have 6 children. She provides a full range of obstetric and gynecologic care including high risk obstetrics, gynecology and gynecologic surgery.
Elisabeth Long, A.R.N.P. is a native of Austria, but considers herself a Burlingtonian. Elisabeth received her RN degree from Southeastern Community College in 1981. She started her career as a OB nurse at the Burlington Medical Center and was there for 10 plus years. It provided her an impetus for obtaining a Nurse Practitioner degree with a focus on women's health. She received her BSN from Iowa Wesleyan College and attended Southwestern Medical University graduating with a degree as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 1992. Subsequently, she obtained an MS degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner through Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska. Since graduating, she has practiced in a variety of professional settings including the Women's Health Research Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She joined Drs. Hays, Anderson, Calderwood and McCoy in 1997. She has been married since 1975 and has two daughters. Elisabeth says that Burlington has been a good community for her and that she enjoys being a nurse practitioner. In her practice, she sees women of all age groups for a variety of health related problems as well as routine visits.
Janette Schulz, A.R.N.P. received her associate degree in nursing from Southeastern Community College in West Burlington in 1980. She worked as an RN at the Burlington Medical Center in the OB department from 1980 to 1982. She moved to Iowa City and worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and on the Neonatal Transport Team at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) for two years before returning to school. She worked as a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse while earning her BSN degree conferred in 1989. She then worked in the Women's Health Clinic at UIHC for ten years. During that time she became certified as an Ambulatory Women's Health Care Nurse in 1993 and completed her Masters Degree in Family and Community Health Nursing in 1997. She completed a post masters Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Missouri-Columbia and was board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1998. She joined Drs. Hays, Calderwood and McCoy in October of 1999. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, The Iowa and American Nurses Association and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Janette enjoys gardening, photography, church activities including volunteer medical trips to Mexico, and spending time with friends and family. She has two children
Rebecca Winnike, C.N.M. received an associate degree in nursing in 1982 from El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. She worked in the women's health field at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas from 1982 to 1999. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Texas in 1994. In 2000, she completed a Masters of Science in nursing with a focus on midwifery. She has been a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives since 1998 and received her certification in 2000. She moved to Iowa in July of 2000. She and her husband, Harold, have been married since 1983 and have three children.
